If any of you are wondering if the care packages that are distributed by Support Our Troops (SOT) in Ayden, NC, make a difference, take a look at this letter we received from a VERY, THANKFUL MOM:
From a mom,
I have no idea who or how to thank for the care packages and wonderful notes my son has received. He received a package about a month ago right before he headed out on a 3+ week mission that he was able to share with his bunk mates as a little piece of home before they headed out. He got back yesterday hungry dirty and very tired. Today he was delivered FOUR more care packages!! He was able to spread the packaged out with his 15 bunk mates that also just got back. There are 16 very very thankful and very happy Marines tonight! My son told me that the notes, cards and pictures included in the packages were taped up for everyone to see and enjoy. My MoM's heart is very happy and thankful tonight too!!
Our mission is to assist veterans with the array of issues they may face, including obtaining proper disability compensation, financial assistance, information on the GI bill, and more. We have created some helpful guides and will continuously be adding more. Recently we also made a calculator that helps veterans calculate how much their VA rating should be, especially when it comes to combining ratings and complicated VA math. Check it out:

What's important to us is providing resources and help for veterans and their families. We want to make sure vets have all the resources necessary to ensure they struggle with their health and finances as little as possible.
Asbestos was widely used throughout the military, and while we now understand the severe health risks it poses, the damage has unfortunately already been done for many veterans. Shockingly, asbestos is still present in some military applications. To raise awareness and help veterans understand their risks, we’ve put together a guide that outlines 20 Ways Asbestos Was Used in the Military. You can check it out here: bergmanlegal.com/military-asbestos-exposure/
Due to gross mismanagement at the VA, thousands of veterans faced a lapse in their benefits. VA officials failed to properly estimate how many dollars were necessary to cover benefits through this fiscal year. I find it unconscionable that the Biden-Harris administration failed our veterans and put them in this position. The men and women who served this nation in uniform deserve the best care that we can give to them, the care they earned.
Congress stepped up and passed legislation that would fund the $3 billion shortfall. Now that veterans have the security knowing their benefits won't lapse, we should turn our attention to the VA and hold them accountable for this egregious failure.
That's why I am sponsoring a bill that would require the VA to submit quarterly, in-person budget reports. And if another shortfall occurs, then VA bureaucrats will forfeit their taxpayer-funded bonuses. This sort of emergency action should not have been necessary, and we will work to ensure it doesn't happen again.
